Rene’s boasts an impressive menu filled with local favorites that cater to both breakfast and late-night cravings alike. Their Colorado Burrito, packed with tender meats and fresh rice and beans, bursts with robust flavor, while the Bacon Breakfast Burrito delivers morning satisfaction with crispy bacon, fluffy eggs, creamy cheese, and just the right amount of potatoes. For those who crave indulgence, the Super Nachos Extra Asada and Queso present a deliciously layered experience—crispy chips smothered in melted cheese and topped with savory, grilled asada.
If you’re a fan of generously portioned meals, the Carne Asada Fries topped with zesty hot Cheetos offer a perfect blend of texture and spice, elevating a classic comfort food. Meanwhile, the chimichangas and chorizo and potato burritos with beans and queso reflect Rene’s commitment to traditional Mexican staples with a flavorful twist. Even the pickled carrots, onions, and jalapeños—a tangy, bright accompaniment—stand out, showcasing attention to detail that elevates every plate.
Customers regularly highlight the generous size of the burritos — described as foot-long and packed with layers of mouthwatering fillings — making each visit feel like a feast rather than a quick bite. The green chili sauce that accompanies many dishes adds vibrant, savory heat without overpowering the delicate balance of flavors inside. One satisfied diner summed it up perfectly, noting that their Gringo burrito had the perfect amount of beans and rice without unnecessary fillers, delivering pure flavor in every bite.
The atmosphere at Rene’s is simple and unpretentious, making it an ideal spot for casual dining or a quick meal on the go. While some note the neighborhood as a little sketchy, the welcoming staff and consistently tasty food more than compensate, turning it into a local gem especially favored for late-night cravings or early morning pick-ups before heading to the airport.
In a town where late-night options can be limited, Rene’s stands out as a dependable and satisfying choice that boldly answers the call for 24/7 burrito availability. Whether you’re stopping by for a hearty breakfast burrito to start your day or craving a flavorful carne asada nacho plate after hours, Rene’s combines warmth, generosity, and genuine Mexican flair in every dish.
For a deliciously authentic, filling, and affordable Mexican dining experience in Wichita, Rene's Restaurant is not just a meal—it’s a celebration of flavor and tradition made accessible to everyone.
Had my first visit to Rene’s last night. I have been looking for a place that has a good asada burrito with beans and rice inside. Most places add in too much other stuff. Rene’s did not disappoint with the Gringo burrito. The burrito was full and tasty with a bunch of flavor. The chicken tacos were good as well. Lots of flavor with a bunch of chicken in it. I was dine-in and got my food in less than 5 minutes during peak dinner time. Customer service was super friendly and helpful with my questions. Dining area was really clean and salsa bar was fully stocked. Parking is really limited though. I live almost an hour away, but anytime I am on the west side of Wichita, you better believe I will be stopping at Rene’s. They just earned a lifelong customer. Thank you.
The food is good for the price, service is just okay, the area is quite sketchy. Great place for a late night burrito run!
Early morning drop off at airport so was looking for a place to pickup breakfast. It was either this or McDonald’s, glad we took the chance to try something new. The burrito’s were a foot long and full of fillings, was not able to eat it all. Could have shared one. Because it had no sauce on the filling, it will warm up nicely. And the sauce! It was green chili sauce that went great on the burrito.
In a town with no Waffle Houses, Rene's is the answer. Burritos 24/7? Why would you ever go anywhere else? This place is amazing and I appreciate them for being open at odd hours. Also, I grabbed 2 burritos thinking they would be smaller fast food style burritos. I was wrong, they're huge! 10/10 place.
